WABA BOARD UPDATE
At the annual meeting in October we announced we had openings for four 2 year terms and one 1 year term for the upcoming 2025 Board. It was also posted on this website. We received nominations for Sue Newman, Renae Stentz, and Nancy Marks at the annual meeting. In the weeks following the meeting we received nominations for Blake Mclean and Katie Ellis (who is a newer member). Nominations closed on October 31st. Since we have exactly the number of nominations as we have vacancies, we reviewed the by-laws and the Board voted to approve and accept all nominees. Therefore; there is no need for a membership vote. In January, the new board will decide who is best to serve in the positions within the board.

48TH ANNUAL MONTANA AGRI-TRADE EXPO (MATE SHOW) FEBRUARY 20-22, 2025 AT METRA PARK IN MONTANA
The 48th annual Montana Agri-Trade Exposition (MATE Show) will again feature the Bull Pen Preview, February 20-22, 2025 at Metra Park. Registration is now open for cattle breeders to participate in this year’s showcase. The MATE show is the largest agricultural trade show in Montana drawing over 10,000 people last year from across the region. The Bull Pen Preview offers tremendous exposure to breeders wishing to promote their genetics and program to commercial and registered producers that attend the show.
Cattle are allowed into the pens for all three days of the show. It is not required that cattle be there all three days, however, a majority of the commercial type producers historically attend on Thursday and Friday. The pens are available as early as Thursday morning and until 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon. This is not a haltered exhibit, but an opportunity for Bull Pen Exhibitors to visit with potential customers face to face and for them to view the cattle. There will be two sizes of pens offered. A 12’x12′ pens for $175.00 (max capacity is 3 hd of yearlings) or 12’x24′ pens for $250.00 (max capacity is 6 hd of yearlings). Herd sires or other aged bulls are allowed as long as they are comfortable being around people and being penned up while on exhibit. Space is limited! Pen assignments will be done on a first come, first serve basis.
Again, this year, we will be offering two $300 gift certificates for Bull Pen attendees. All attendees will be encouraged to fill out an address form, from which we will draw two names out to receive the gift certificate that can be used to buy a bull from our Bull Pen exhibitors within the next 12 months. We will also offer the People’s Choice Award again in 2025!
